Lightweight and Supportive, but Needs a Break-In

Originally posted on brooksrunning.com

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] These are excellent, lightweight running shoes that offer plenty of support. Be aware that they require a break-in period of a few days before they feel fully comfortable, and you may find the toe box to be a bit narrow. Overall, they are a solid choice once properly broken in.

Great Daily Runner

Originally posted on brooksrunning.com

Great daily running shoes. I was looking for another neutral, lower cushion replacement after the Hyperion 2 and these fit the bill. Great ground feel, grip is good, cushion is comfortable and balanced. These are perfect if you like something more responsive and lightweight.

Comfortable

Originally posted on Home Tester Club

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I purchased these because I wanted to try the Ghost Amp. These are different from the Ghost and not in a bad way. Bouncy, cushion in the toe and not as rigid as the Ghost. I would say they are a slimmed down version of the Glycerin style. I purchased the men’s because I liked the black and purple and I wish that when Brooks offers colors in the men’s, they offer the same in women’s. I know my size in men’s and these fit me well. There wasn’t much of a break in period, BUT, there is an issue with the heel and it rubs. After wearing mine a few times, it went away. Luckily, I don’t wear mine for running so it wasn’t an issue. I could see how it could be a problem for those that run. Overall I am satisfied with the Ghost Amp and I would definitely buy them again.

Ghost Amp Lives Up to the Name

Originally posted on Home Tester Club

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The Ghost Amp is a versatile shoe...perfect for running, walking and fitness classes. It fits great (ordered my usual size for Brooks), and it is very comfortable. It lives up to it's name Amp with a nice spring in each step. The Ghost Amp is surprisingly light for the upper support and cushion it delivers.

Good Blend

This had more cushion but didn't irritate my foot like the Ghost Max. It is in between the 2 but it is lightweight and is good for different occasions. I really like the feel on my foot and it has a comfortable toe box and cushion under foot but still feels like I have contact with the ground.

Brooks Ghost Amp: Bouncy and Breathable, but Needs a Stable Surface

Originally posted on brooksrunning.com

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Disclaimer: I received the Brooks Ghost Amp for free in exchange for an honest review. Fit and Comfort The Ghost Amp fits true to size. I wear a 12.5, and the shoe perfectly accommodated my custom orthotics without feeling cramped. The upper is fantastic—highly breathable and comfortable enough to wear all day without developing any hot spots or foot fatigue. Cushioning and Underfoot Feel The cushioning on this shoe is significant. Coming from my usual long-distance shoe, the Brooks Adrenaline GTS, the Ghost Amp feels incredibly soft. They are exceptionally enjoyable to walk in, though I did find them slightly unstable when just standing still, as my feet had a tendency to roll slightly to the left or right. Responsiveness There is a lot of "pop" and energy return in this heal. It feels like it is intended to mimic the propulsion of a plate-style shoe, but because it lacks the rigidity of modern polycarbonate plates, it trades some stability for that bounce. Which I found common in 2025 plate style shoes iv worn and tried on. I noticed that if you aren't perfectly dialed in with your running form, it’s easy to expend a lot of energy moving in the vertical plane rather than driving forward. Because of that, I didn't necessarily feel faster in them despite the high energy return. Support, Stability, and Overall Ride This is where the shoe struggled for me, though the ride quality heavily depends on the surface. My outdoor routes consist mostly of urban streets and sidewalks. Because of the soft, high-cushion platform, sudden lateral movements—like dodging potholes, navigating around dogs, or transitioning from a cement sidewalk to a grass easement—felt quite precarious and unstable. Where I Ran & Multi-Run Performance I tested these across city streets, sidewalks, grass, and the treadmill. Personally, as someone who relies on the stability of the Adrenaline GTS, I have only found the Ghost Amp enjoyable to run in on the treadmill. On that stable, predictable belt, I can easily settle into my form and enjoy the shoe's bounce without worrying about lateral stability. Overall Verdict While they won't replace my go-to stability shoes for outdoor mileage, the Ghost Amp has found a solid place in my rotation. They are fantastic all-day walking and recovery shoes, and they did an exceptional job keeping my legs and feet fresh this past weekend while I was putting in miles as a sighted guide at the Paratriathlon National Championship. I'd highly recommend these to neutral runners looking for a heavily cushioned, bouncy treadmill shoe, or anyone needing a breathable, highly cushioned shoe for all-day wear.

Features Actually Made a Difference

Originally posted on brooksrunning.com

I've always considered myself more of a trail runner, but these Brooks Running Ghost Amps may have convinced me to switch it up. My thoughts: Heel cushion and shock absorption are fantastic. More springy than I expected. I figured it'd be shock absorbing but I thought it'd just be lost energy via dissipation. But I do feel like it gets transferred through to the toe and back into your stride. I'm used to a much roomier toebox, so I also expected these to feel more cramped. They definitely are more snug in the toebox, but not cramped. I think between the DNA foam absorbing most of the impact and then just enough of a snug fit, it felt like the metatarsals could spread out sufficiently through each step. I do think the shape of shoe is a little bit too pointed. There was just a gap of empty space above and in between my big toe and second toe. I really appreciate the solid heel cup. Stayed snug and didn't shift around, without feeling stiff. Steeper downhill is a little uncomfortable on the achilles, but that's rarely an issue. Compared to a lot of other shoes I've used, there's more material in the Ghost Amps in the middle of the sole, creating a more rounded ground contact feel. I did notice the natural roll as I ran, in part due to the very cushioned heel that transitions into a slightly more firm midsole, and then thinner toe area. Because I drag my feet a little towards the end of long runs, I was worried I would scrap a lot. But because the sole helps transfer force from the heel to the toe in a rolling motion, I didn't have any dragging when I got fatigued. Overall, fantastic road shoes. First time in a long time that I've felt the high-tech features actually made a noticeable difference. If your feet are very wide, these will likely be too narrow. And if you're used to a zero drop, thinner sole, just be prepared for the adjustment. I received this product for free in exchange for my honest review.

Absolutely solid shoe

Originally posted on brooksrunning.com

Right off the bat, these were very comfortable shoes to put on. And they still are. They have a very secure fit and a lot of cushion and retain their loft very well after a day on my feet. I average about 6 miles a day on concrete just walking and I typically go from that to a 2-6 mile run and my feet are largely unaffected. During daily walking and runs I appreciate the springiness of the shoes- they feel very responsive to every step. I particularly notice this when going up and down stairs! In faster-paced efforts they feel very supportive and I have very little issue with “sloppiness” inside the shoe- aka they hold to my feet very well. I always pair them with merino wool socks for breathability- and the shoes have performed phenomenally. They breathe better than I do on a long run. One thing I will note is that my stride tends to pronate- and these shoes did not affect that negatively or positively. No change in stride. Overall, I am very happy. I’m looking forward to putting a bunch of miles on ‘em. They are so far some of the favorite shoes I’ve owned I received this product for free in exchange for my honest review

Impressed by the all new Ghost Amp as it has a lot to offer to all runners.

Originally posted on brooksrunning.com

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have been running in the Brooks Ghost Amp for several sessions now, both on the track and the road, and I am thoroughly impressed with its performance. As someone who began running at age 5 and has relied on Brooks for years, I find that the Ghost Amp exemplifies everything I love about the brand: a shoe designed for daily runs, dynamic tempo workouts, and an incredibly comfortable fit. I received a complimentary pair of Brooks Ghost Amp shoes to test and review. As an avid runner, I was excited to evaluate their comfort and performance during my workouts and share my honest feedback. Right out of the box, the Ghost Amp fits true to size, offering the perfect amount of space for my toes to move without being too loose. The SpringRamp forefoot and breathability technology made a noticeable difference, especially on my 90-degree day runs when breathability is essential. My feet stayed cool and dry, which made a tremendous difference in my experience. During a challenging track workout, I maintained a 5-minute pace, and the shoe’s responsiveness truly allowed me to excel, keeping up with my performance effortlessly. On easy runs at a more relaxed 7-minute pace, it provided the right support to make my experience comfortable and enjoyable. As a triathlete, finding a shoe that helps with recovery after races is vital, and I am confident that the Ghost Amp meets those requirements perfectly. It seamlessly blends the qualities of an everyday running shoe with the capability for more intense workouts. If you are considering a new pair of shoes, I highly recommend the Brooks Ghost Amp. They cater to all types of runners, from beginners to seasoned athletes, and will enhance your running experience whether you are training or simply enjoying a daily jog.

They’re super comfortable and have a nice, smooth roll that helps propel you forward when running. They’ve been great for both running and everyday wear, and I’ve been really happy with them so far. Ghost Amp HIGHLY recommend

Originally posted on brooksrunning.com

It is durable, responsive, comfortable for long and easy runs, and just what you need if you want a single shoe that can do it all. Cannot recommend this shoe enough for new AND experienced runners. Full Week, One Shoe

Originally posted on brooksrunning.com

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Six weeks of half marathon training and the Ghost Amp has been on my feet more than anything else in the rotation. Easy miles around Evergreen, tempo days, whatever the plan called for. It just works. The DNA Hype foam is lighter and more energetic than anything Brooks has put in a daily trainer. On easy days it absorbs and cushions. On harder efforts it actually gives something back. The shoe turns over quick when you want it to and doesn't drag when you don't. Fits true to size with good lockdown throughout, nothing to think about once you're moving. One honest flag though. It runs warm. Hot days you'll feel it. Not a dealbreaker, just go in knowing. If you want one shoe that covers the whole training week, this is a good answer. I received this product for free in exchange for my honest review.

Do it all

Originally posted on brooksrunning.com

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] First of all please note that I received this product for free in exchange for my review. For me this is the best daily training shoe from Brooks that can do it all. From the top down, the upper is a nice fit, maybe slightly snug in the toe box but not narrow. It fits like the standard ghost but the upper feels more durable based on the material. The lacing is great and has a really secure fit. The midsole is the best part. 6mm drop and really responsive but supportive foam. It feels like it won’t go flat or die out quickly but the pop should last quite a while in this shoe! Finally the rubber outsole has good coverage and seems to be quite durable. I have had great experiences running in this shoe and am looking forward to a lot more! Underfoot comfort was fantastic. It’s responsive but not too soft and you can tell there is support. The upper is breathable but not so open that your feet will get soaked in slightly wet conditions. Highly recommend.

Versatile Daily Trainer

Originally posted on brooksrunning.com

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I’ve used the Brooks Ghost Amp for daily runs and a fartlek workout, and it handled everything from around an 8:00 pace down to 5:00 pace comfortably. The fit is secure, cushioning is balanced, and the shoe feels stable and responsive without being overly heavy. My only complaint was the traction, which could be better on certain surfaces. Overall, I’d recommend it as a versatile daily trainer for runners who want one shoe that can handle easy runs and faster workouts. I received this product for free in exchange for my honest review.
